Welcome to Scents by Design. We are a pour-your-own candle and custom fragrance bar located in the Neighborhood of the Arts in Rochester, NY. We sell natural soy candles and premium home fragrance products that are hand-made in our store each day, but what makes Scents by Design really special is our custom fragrance experience. We carry over 100 distinct scents, and customers can come in to our shop to blend their own fragrance oils to make custom candles, wax melts, reed diffusers, aromatic sprays and more.

With this custom fragrance concept, we want people to start thinking differently about scenting their spaces, and to treat scent as an interior design element. If I come to your man cave, filled with leather furniture and mahogany bookcases to watch football, it shouldn’t smell like lilacs and ivy. We spend so much time and money curating the look and feel of the spaces in our homes and workplaces, and we sometimes ignore our sense of smell. We aim to help people find scents that match their noses and their environments.

The custom fragrance experience is interactive and hands-on, and our shop has a social atmosphere that is perfect for individuals, large groups, intimate date nights or private parties. Whether you're looking for a girls' night out, a team-building event, or an activity for the kids, Scents by Design would love to host your next get-together. Scents by Design is also a source for unique wedding and event favors, corporate gifts, private label fragrance products, and community fundraisers.
